Understanding Spiritual songs……. (Pastor Chris Oyakhilome)

Thought For Today: Understanding Spiritual Songs

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; (Ephesians 5:18-19).

This month of March is truly a time to experience God’s glory and favour like never before; as we sing spiritual songs and minister from our spirits! Hallelujah! Psalms are Holy Spirit-inspired words or spiritual poems, which make music. Psalms don’t have to be quotations from the book of Psalms, but they must be based on God’s Word and His provisions in Christ. Hymns are songs of praise that give glory to God. Say to yourself; “I am a success, greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.” Sing with it till it gets into your spirit; turn your life into music. Talk about you. God said, “Glorious things are spoken of you…!” (Psalm 87:3 NKJV).

Spiritual songs refer to singing in other tongues, when you sing mysteries to God and only He can understand you (1 Corinthians 14:2). Make music out of God’s Word, edify yourself in the Holy Ghost and you will be charged to confront any challenge this month.

These three are a result of your being filled with the Spirit and you must desire to experience them daily in your life this month. If you observe, the scripture says you are to ‘speak to yourself.’ It’s not me speaking to you or you to me. No, it’s you speaking to yourself and I to myself. This way you will be further filled with the Spirit and charged in the Holy Ghost.

Nothing shall be able to successfully stand against you this month because as you do these three things, angels are also mobilized on your behalf. They take up positions all over the world in a military formation; to ensure that favour is yours even as the Lord had declared concerning us this year! Glory to God! So, make music in your heart today; sing God’s Word to yourself today. Hallelujah!

This is great news. The whole world ought to hear this. Share this article with all your friends and contacts and also remember to share your comments too. Have a great day!
