And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth (Matthew 9:2-3).
During the days our Lord Jesus walked this earth, some people admired Him for His love, compassion, and the miracles He performed while others were irritated by His words and actions. They agreed He was a good man, probably a prophet, but they couldn’t accept something He constantly affirmed: that He came from God and was one with God. They were enraged at Him and they planned to kill him for speaking such “blasphemous” words.
There are still many today who are offended when we make such bold declarations about our rights and privileges as believers in Christ Jesus. When a Christian begins to testify about his sonship in Christ, the religious folks get uncomfortable, thinking he is exalting himself too highly. Even when it’s shown to them from the Scriptures, they refuse to see it because of their mindset. They find it difficult to accept; instead they go around accusing us of blasphemy. Some Christians have allowed themselves to be affected and discouraged from boldly testifying of who they are in Christ and of their inheritance in Him. They shy away from revealing in their words, God’s purpose for their lives. Don’t find yourself in that state; refuse to be affected by such accusations.
In this month of testimony, your daily life should be a witness of Christ and bring people to the knowledge of the truth of God’s Word. Keep testifying of who are in Christ Jesus. Tell people that not only are you a son or daughter of the Almighty God, you are a Saint. Tell them that you are a partaker of divinity. Announce to them that as He is so are you in this world. They might laugh at you, remember, that’s just the way they laughed at Jesus. No matter what they do or say, stick with the word of your testimony, and it’ll produce miracles to prove itself. Then they’ll know that God’s Word on your lips is backed with power and can make a change in their lives too.
In this month of Testimony, God has given you a mouth and a wisdom that cannot be resisted. Every situation is your opportunity to open your mouth and testify! It’s your time to declare His Word concerning your life, to announce His miracles, and proclaim His victories irrespective of what any one thinks or says. Hallelujah!
